The German-born, Los Angeles-based artist, songwriter, and creative entrepreneur has already amassed an impressive track record behind the scenes, but 2024 marks the moment she stepped into the spotlight under her own name—and on her own terms.
Before launching her independent artist project, Leonie was no stranger to success. Working between Berlin and international music markets, she built a flourishing career as a songwriter and vocalist, collaborating with major labels, publishers, and world-class producers. Her work caught the attention of major platforms, including a sync deal with Disney, and collectively, her songs have garnered over 70 million streams worldwide.
But behind the curtain of commercial success, something deeper was calling—a desire for true creative ownership, artistic integrity, and personal storytelling.
In 2024, Leonie answered that call. With the release of her debut single “Blindfolded,” she unveiled not only a new sound but a new self—one that is raw, real, and resolutely independent. The track was more than a debut; it was a declaration. A letting go of the past, and a courageous step into a future where authenticity is non-negotiable.
Her follow-up single “Code Blue” continued the narrative, a hauntingly honest portrayal of transformation—the kind that comes when we stop clinging to what no longer fits and begin trusting the unknown. With cinematic production and emotionally rich lyrics, Leonie’s music resonates with those on the brink of change, echoing the heartbeats of anyone brave enough to start over.
Now based in Los Angeles on an artist visa, Leonie is not just releasing music—she’s building a movement. Through her creative collaborations and grassroots approach to community, she’s laying the groundwork for something bigger: an ecosystem where artists support one another, outside the confines of outdated industry models.
Her efforts have not gone unnoticed. With three nominations at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards (HIMA)—including Best Original Song, Best Original Recording, and Best Female Vocal—Leonie’s independent era is already being recognized for the powerful force it is.
