Brooke Hogan’s husband Steven Oleksy shared the first public message on behalf of him and his wife following Hulk Hogan’s death July 24.
Despite their estrangement, Brooke Hogan had love in her heart for dad Hulk Hogan.
While Brooke has yet to publicly comment on the WWE star’s July 24 death, her husband Steven Oleksy and friend Ashley Kora shared moving messages on her behalf.
“My dear sweet friend @mizzhogan lost her father today,” Ashley wrote over a July 24 Instagram Story featuring black-and-white photo of Brooke and Hulk. “He died knowing what I know, Brooke loved him deeply, was fiercely loyal and only ever want him to be peaceful, happy, and surrounded by people who valued him for who he really was.”
“He chose differently for himself,” the message continued. “But we can still remember him as a doting father to a little girl with big dreams and a bigger heart. The world lost a legend, we lost Mr. Bollea, Brooke’s dad.”
Sharing his gratitude for the message, Steven wrote over the post, “Thank you for the love and support for my beautiful wife. We are incredibly lucky to have you in our lives—not just during this challenging time, but always.”
Hulk—who shared Brooke, 37, and Nick, 34, with ex-wife Linda Hogan—died at the age of 71 after Florida authorities responded to his Clearwater home for a “cardiac arrest” call. His cause of death has yet to be revealed.
Months before his passing, Brooke—who welcomed twins Oliver and Molly with Steven in January—spoke about her estrangement from Hulk (whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea) and Linda.
After Linda suggested Hulk was to blame for their daughter cutting contact with her, Brooke disputed her claim in a March 27 message shared on Instagram, writing, “No contact with my Mom has nothing to do with my Dad, and no contact with my Father has nothing to do with my Mother.”

Still, despite the family’s strife, Linda—who was married to Hulk for 26 years—shared a throwback picture of her and the WWE legend, four days before his death, writing, “The good old days!”

Though actress and producer Brooke remained tight with her dad for years, she revealed in 2023 why she didn’t attend her father’s wedding to third wife Sky Daily, writing on Instagram, “For my own journey to healing and happiness, I have chosen to create some distance between myself and my family, and am focusing on people and things that heal my heart and align with my own personal beliefs, goals, and values.”
Happier Times
The family (at a June 2007 Father of the Year luncheon) began to fracture following Hulk (born Terry Gene Bollea) and Linda’s 2009 split. With Brooke welcoming twins Oliver and Molly with hockey player husband Steven Oleksy, she “doesn’t talk to us,” Linda revealed in a video shared to her Instagram Stories in March 2025. “She’s had twins. She got married, she didn’t tell us… She had a huge fight with Terry. I don’t know how that reflected onto me, but she cut me out too.”
